Privacy Policy

Starlit Journey ("we," "us") is an astrology app that calculates your natal chart and active planetary transits, with AI-generated interpretation. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's handled.

What we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, and a hashed password, when you create an account.
• Birth data: the birth date, time (if known), and location you provide to calculate your natal chart. This is the core data the app needs to function — without it, we can't calculate your chart or transits.
• Payment information: we never see or store your card details. Payment is handled entirely by our payment processor, Dodo Payments — see "Who we share data with" below.
• Usage data: anonymous, aggregated analytics about how the app is used (page views, general device/location info) — see "Who we share data with" below and our Cookie Policy.

How we use it

• Your birth data is used solely to calculate your natal chart and active transits.
• Your natal chart data (planetary positions, not your raw birth date/time/location) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate plain-language interpretation of your transits. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models under our agreement with them.
• We use your email to send account-related communication (e.g., signup confirmation).
• When you create an account, a box to receive our weekly newsletter is ticked by default. If you leave it ticked, we add your email to our newsletter list once you confirm your account; untick it to opt out. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't share your birth data or chart with anyone else.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of third-party services to run the app. Each only sees what it needs to do its job:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. Stores your account and birth data.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — generates transit interpretations from your calculated chart data (not your raw birth details).
• Dodo Payments — our payment processor and merchant of record. Handles your card details and billing directly; we never see or store them.
• Resend — sends account-related emails (e.g., signup confirmation).
• Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics — see our Cookie Policy for details on what's collected and, for Google Analytics, how to opt out.

Data retention

We keep your account and birth data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data yourself, anytime, from Chart & Settings — no need to contact us. If you'd rather we do it for you, email hello@starlitjourney.com.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Update your birth data or delete your account entirely from Chart & Settings while logged in, or email hello@starlitjourney.com for anything that page doesn't cover.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
